One of my all time favorite pastimes is Live Action Roleplaying (LARP), and it’s related cousins: historical re-enactment and re-creation. I am getting involved in some of the teaching activities at the local Renaissance Faires here in California, and I have played off and on in the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) for years. I’m still looking for a good place to dress in my 18th century clothing and go to balls. (Ideas are always welcome. I’m in the SanFernando Valley). JI also enjoy tabletop roleplaying, especially games which are historically-inspired, such as Castle Falkenstein and Ars Magica.
I'm also a writer. I have done technical writing for a living for a while, and I still do a little writing on the sidelines. I'm hoping to be published someday, but since I usually write fiction, that's probably going to take a lot of rejection slips before it happens. And frankly, so far I haven't had much time or energy to devote to it, since my first love is needlework and designing the former. (See my Needlework page for details).
