So today is the first day of TAST (Take a Stitch Tuesday on Sharon B’s Blog). Which actually means that the stitch choice was posted last night (she’s in Australia) and I won’t be posting my results until NEXT Tuesday. Kind of hard to post something that isn’t stitched yet!
But Watch this Space! 🙂 I am determined to take this opportunity to experiment and expand my design abilities…
Join us! (This week is Fly stitch).
Sharon has also updated her Squidoo pages on Hand Embroidery and on Needlework Samplers. Some very interesting links there!
I wish that I could do TAST. But it’s “modern” work – kinda out of my “realm”. I want to learn, learn, learn, and have a huge list of courses I want to do, and on-line tutorials, and projects, and research subjects…..The members (including you – I love your buttonhole flower) produce such wonderful and interesting designs. I really enjoy just looking..you’re the second TAST person’s blog I’ve read today and I’ve really enjoyed both of them 🙂
I tried to do completely historic work when I was in the SCA — really I did. I became pretty proficient at opus anglicanum… and actually have an article on it that if I ever re-edit and add the designs I promised years ago I will probably publish again… but I get bored easily, and I got tired of having to prove that everything I did was “done” in period! 🙂 So I stitch modern, still do a little historic calligraphy on the side, and have completely run out of time to attend SCA events! LOL
